Returns & Shipping Policy

This policy outlines how shipping and returns are handled when you rent an item through Hire the House. By placing a booking, you agree to the terms below.

 

Shipping & Collection

We offer two options for receiving your rental:

  • Studio Collection: You may collect your costume from our Holborn studio on your selected start date during opening hours.
  • Courier Delivery: We offer tracked courier delivery to your chosen address. Delivery is scheduled to arrive the day before your rental begins.

Please ensure someone is available to receive the delivery. If a delivery is missed, it may cause delays in receiving your item.

 

Returns

You are responsible for ensuring the item is returned to us on or before your agreed return date.

You may return your item via:

  • Courier Collection: A pre-arranged courier will collect the item from your address. We will provide full instructions and shipping labels.
  • In Person Drop-Off: Items can be returned to our Holborn studio within our opening hours.

Late returns may incur additional charges. If you are experiencing issues with your return, please contact us immediately.

Condition of Returned Items

All items must be returned in the same condition they were received:

  • Do not wash, alter, or repair items
  • Ensure all components (e.g. accessories, belts, fastenings) are included
  • Use the original packaging where possible

We handle all professional cleaning, so there’s no need to launder your rental. Please do not attempt to clean items yourself.

 

Returns & Shipping:

Refunds & Cancellations

All bookings are final once confirmed and paid. We do not offer cancellations, exchanges, or refunds for unused items or items that do not fit. We recommend reviewing sizing information or booking a fitting before placing your order.

Lost, Damaged or Incomplete Returns

You are responsible for the item during the rental period. If an item is returned late, damaged, or missing components, you may be charged the cost of repair, replacement, or an extended hire fee.

Optional Damage Protection can be added at checkout, which covers minor wear and tear but does not apply to loss, neglect, or significant damage.
