STEP ONE
Explore our curated Look Book and find the perfect costume, headpiece or accessory. Filter by theme, occasion or style. Once you've made your selection, check availability and book online or schedule an in-person appointment at our Holborn studio.
STEP TWO
Enhance your hire with optional services including bespoke tailoring, on the day hair & makeup, and content creation. Whether it’s for an event, shoot, or stage, we’ll help you build the full experience.
STEP THREE
Choose to collect from our studio or have your costume delivered to your door. After your event, return it via our pre-arranged courier or drop it back in person.

What is Hire the House?
We’re a door to door costume hire service offering curated, one of a kind pieces for events, photoshoots, fashion, film, TV and everything in between. Browse online, book your dates, and we’ll deliver straight to you.
How do I start booking?
Create your account, add your payment details and delivery address, then head over to our Look Book. Filter by category, theme, or date, select your costume, and book in just a few clicks or schedule an in person styling appointment in Holborn.
Can I customise my look
Absolutely. During checkout or at your appointment you can add:
- Bespoke tailoring or alterations
- Hair & makeup on the day
- Content creation packages for social or editorial use
These extras are optional but make a full transformation seamless.
How does pricing work?
Each item shows transparent pricing per rental period. You’ll see total costs before booking, with optional add ons.
What if it doesn't fit?
We offer detailed size information online, and in-person fittings are available by appointment prior to booking. As each piece is reserved exclusively for you, we’re unable to offer refunds for items that don’t fit once the booking is confirmed. We recommend booking a fitting or contacting our team with any sizing questions before completing your order.
How do I return my costume?
Pack it securely and either:
- Use our pre‑ arranged courier service (with tracking)
- Drop it back to our Holborn HQ

Can I rent multiple items together?
Yes. Just ensure they share the same rental window. Compatible items can be bundled at checkout. Each rental remains itemised, and availability is checked per piece.
What if I need to cancel or modify?
All bookings are final once confirmed and payment is processed. As each item is reserved and prepared specifically for your rental dates, we’re unable to accommodate cancellations or modifications after this point. Please ensure you’re happy with your selection and rental window before completing your booking.
Is this service eco friendly?
Yes. Renting keeps costumes in circulation, reducing waste. We prioritise sustainable materials, responsible cleaning, and reusable packaging wherever we can.
